Hi, I've been given this software to install on our network. I've tried copying the files from the cd to a network share then adding a shortcut to the exe file on another shared drive so kids can access it. When i run it it works fine, no problems. When a kid tries it comes up saying 'Corrupt Install Detected' and then quits. I've found lots of posts on here about this software and how horrible it is to install. Has anyone actually found a nice easy way to install it so that kids can access it without having to be administrators and not loosing their network drives (i think the epal solution has this issue - correct me if i'm wrong!).
Can anyone help!? Recently had this land on my desk as well. Ended up creating a msi and then rolling it out with the shortcut pointing at 'C: Program Files eJay Dance2005 ejay Dance2005.exe' (slightly altered from the norm) which is a exe hidden in one of the directories. The only problem so far is that it requires a admin to log in and run it before students/staff can use it. Whether I just got lucky I don't know but either way it works Hope this helps in some way as info on it's a bit none existent, I mean this idea I stole of a comment on the bottom of some post going on about using some piece of Microsoft software to allow temp fake admin rights.
